Primary Purpose:

Facilitates the Districts hiring process to ensure compliance with State, Federal, and District laws, rules and regulations. Communicates frequently with applicants, employees, administrators, and outside agencies.

 

Education / Certification:

  1. High School Diploma is required.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, education, or equivalent is preferred.

Special Knowledge / Skills:

  1. Knowledge of principles and techniques related to school district salary administration and staffing.
  2. Knowledge of State Certification rules as well as Federal ESSEA guidelines.
  3. Ability to analyze and interpret data and statistics.
  4. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite to include advanced skills in Word, Access, and Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  5. Ability to work in collaborative team based environments.
  6. Strong organizational skills.
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Ability to perform a variety of tasks often changing assignments on short notice with little or no direction.

Experience / Other Requirements:

  1. Three years of administrative or human resources support experience.
  2. Previous experience working with employee hiring and compensation is preferred.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Audits and maintains certification and licensing information for certified or licensed professionals, paraprofessionals, and auxiliary employees.
  2. Works cooperatively with campuses, departments and staff to collect, organize and format data in order to submit district personnel information in an accurate and efficient manner.
  3. Processes applications and verifies certification with the Texas State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC), universities, colleges, and education agencies in other states.
  4. Runs reports and conducts verification checks to ensure accuracy of certification, contract, and degree data for all District employees.
  5. Prepares, records, and distributes correspondence, forms, contracts, board agendas, letters of intent, and reasonable assurance letters.
  6. Responsible for reviewing new hire recommendations, provides salary recommendations, and offers positions to new staff.
  7. Assists and guides new employees through the Districts on-boarding process.
  8. Schedules new employees for New Employee Orientations. Greets new employees at orientation and assists with additional components of the orientation as needed.
  9. Compiles pertinent data as needed when preparing various federal, state, and local reports.
  10. Represents the District at recruiting events, as needed.
  11. Participates in special projects as assigned by Administration.
  12. Responsible for properly maintaining district records, adhering to all policies set forth by the district for records maintenance and learning the records retention schedule for department records.
  13. Maintain confidentiality.
  14. Other duties as assigned.
