Primary Purpose:
The Director of Child Nutrition will oversee and manage the food service operations, oversee compliance with TDA regulations, manage personnel functions, and create and maintain all food production activities.
Education / Certification:
- Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, Business, Human Resources, or related field is preferred.
Experience / Other Requirements
- 5 years of experience in 12-K Food Service Management
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
Special Knowledge / Skills:
- Knowledge of the National School Lunch and Free and Reduced Programs.
- Knowledge in Child Nutrition regulations and guidelines.
- Meal Production Records and Accountability.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Thorough knowledge of all regulations governing the Child Nutrition Program.
- Reconcile all monthly Child Nutrition Financial reports including bank, historical data, and sales reports.
- Ensure campuses are following specifications outlined in the Food Service Management Company
- Ensure that Food Service Management Company is following specifications outlined in Food Service Management Company Contract.
- Approve Budget Amendments.
- Draft and Monitor Annual Child Nutrition Budget.
- Reconcile Payroll at fiscal year-end.
- Site Visits and Monitoring during breakfast and lunch services.
- Collaborate with District Staff and Dietitian to develop menu & production to create healthy and appealing menu items that increase participation through breakfast and lunch services.
- Ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously and independently to meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
