Primary Purpose:

Under general supervision, provide security and protection for students and vehicles in student parking lot. Monitor student, visitor, and vendor traffic at entrance gate. Accompany drug dogs and assist administration in searching of identified vehicles.

Education / Certification:

1. High School Diploma or GED.

Special Knowledge / Skills:

1. Ability to record information.
2. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
3. Ability to work effectively with high school students.
4. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally).

Experience / Other Requirements:

1. Previous security or law enforcement experience is preferred.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

 Student Management

1. Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules related to student conduct, vehicle operation, and parking.
2. Resolve conflict or confrontation between students and report disturbances to principal or assistant principal.
3. Control traffic and parking on campus grounds. Write citations when necessary.
4. Assist administration in vehicle searches.

Security and Parking

1. Register student vehicles and maintain accurate records of registration.
2. Work cooperatively with office personnel to inform students of problems with vehicles (i.e., improperly parked, lights on, etc.)
3. Assist law enforcement personnel as needed. 
4. Notify police, fire department, or other appropriate authority of any situation requiring immediate attention.
5. Give directions or act as a guide to authorized visitors.
6. Flex working times if necessary to cover after school hour events. (Example: Come in at 1:00 pm if needed to work traffic for football games.)
7. Other duties as assigned; could include working in Maintenance & Operations or Transportation in the summer.
